Construction

Each year, Norway invests approximately NOK 440 billion in construction, and the construction industry is one of the country’s largest. Big projects and high activity also contributes to international actors choosing to invest in Norway. In this competitive market, our construction lawyers assist both Norwegian and foreign contractors, builders, planners and consultants in all phases of a construction project, from the tender stage to project implementation, final settlement and disputes.

Construction projects can be extensive with long-term contractual relationships and large contract sums, often with many different parties involved. We are familiar with the challenges that can arise in construction projects, and have broad experience of giving clear advice in all project phases. If disputes cannot be resolved through negotiations, our lawyers have significant litigation experience and litigates many cases before the court each year.

We have in-depth industry knowledge and extensive experience in advising Norwegian and international players in the construction industry. In some projects, legal issues arise that require lawyers with other expertise, for example in real estate, employment law or tax and VAT. We are organised to work interdisciplinary, which means that our clients receive the best available expertise at all times.

Brækhus has a strong international presence. Through our memberships in the international lawyers’ networks Meritas Law Firms WorldwideAndersen Global and Crowe Global, we are able to assist our clients across national borders.
